Cephalon in the UK and Ireland
Cephalon established its first presence in the United Kingdom and Ireland in 1993.
Today, Cephalon offices are based in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire for the UK, and in Dublin, Ireland.
PROVIGIL® (modafinil) was launched in the UK in 1998 and in Ireland in 1999. ACTIQ® (oral transmucosal fentanyl citrate) was launched in the UK in 2001 and in Ireland in 2004 and EFFENTORA® in January 2009.
As a result of the acquisition of Zeneus Pharma in 2005, Cephalon entered the oncology field and markets several products including MYOCET® (liposomal doxorubicin).
Cephalon employs 90 persons in the UK and Ireland.
4 000 people globally are dedicated to discovering, developing or providing innovative specialty as well as branded generics products to healthcare professionals in order to improve patients' lives.
Cephalon in Europe
Having established a first foothold in Europe in 1993, Cephalon has continuously expanded its presence in the region as well as its expertise in new therapeutic areas.
Cephalon today provides 30 specialty products in the Central Nervous System, Pain and Oncology areas as well as several original medicines in the Primary Care field.
Since the acquisition of Mepha, the number one generic company in Switzerland, Cephalon has enlarged its product offer with 120 generics or branded generics in a wide range of therapeutic areas.
Cephalon and Mepha both develop specific drug delivery technologies to help improve patients' compliance with their treatments.
